Announcement and Vacancies:

The SSC has announced approximately 5000 vacancies across various ministries, departments, offices, government, and constitutional bodies. These positions are available for candidates who have successfully completed their class 12 examinations.


Application Process and Fee:

Interested candidates are required to apply online through the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in. The application fee for the SSC-CHSL 2024 examination is Rs. 100. However, this fee is exempted for women, SC, ST, and ex-servicemen candidates.


Examination Structure:

The SSC-CHSL examination comprises four papers, namely English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. The examination is conducted in two tiers, along with a subsequent typing test.


Exam Duration and Pattern:

Tier-1: 60 minutes (100 questions, 200 marks)

Tier-2: Session-I (2 hours and 15 minutes), Session-II Part A: Skill Test for DEO (15 Minutes), and Session II Part B: Typing Test for LDC/ JSA (10 Minutes)


Salary Structure:

Successful candidates will be entitled to salaries aligned with the pay scale of the 7th Pay Commission. The pay scale for different positions is as follows:


- LDC/JSA – Pay level-2 (Rs 19,900 – 63,200)

- DEO – Pay level-4 (Rs 25,500 – 81,100) and Pay level-5 (Rs 29,200 – 92,300)

- DEO Grade’A’ – Pay level-4 (Rs 25,500 – 81,100)


Important Dates:

- SSC-CHSL Notification – April 2, 2024

- Online Application – April 2, 2024

- Last Date to Submit Application – May 1, 2024


Note: The specific dates for online fee payment, challan generation, admit cards for tier-1 and tier-2 exams, as well as the final result date, are yet to be announced. However, the tier-1 exam is anticipated to be conducted during June-July.
